Since January 1st, I have been busy setting up the foundation of a Creative Team here at CCPSL. The vision is simple, to engage people with creative media and to promote healthy relationships with God. There are questions I had to ask myself before starting a ‘creative team’.
1. What does a Creative Team do?
2. What will the Creative team produce to enhance the ministries at CCPSL?
3. What is the pie in the sky vision for a Creative Team?
4. How will a Creative Team support the vision at CCPSL?
::1 To answer the first question I began to look outward at other churches to discover what they do. Â It seems that more and more churches are turning to creative media to add flavor to their service(s) and/or their ministries as a whole. Â I consider creative content the spice of a church service. Â It in no way replaces the Word of God and in fact can NOT be used to do so; however I discovered that creative media developed by a creative team adds a bit of flavor to the overal church experience. Â Consider it a spice if you will. Â Please note that in the same breath that too much will create a negative affect as well.
::2 The Creative Team will produce static and dynamic content in context with the message. Â You mean that the program, lights and environment will all point towards the message?…yeah…basically.
::3 The pie in the sky vision for the creative ministry is to be able to create content that glorifies God and that can be used by others (not just our church) to reach the lost. Â Seems simple enough…just requires a lot of prayer.
::4 The Creative  Team will support the vision of CCPSL by reinforcing the weekend service and by providing an excellent seamless experience.  This to requires constant prayer and guidance from the Lord.
In summary, Â I have learned to not write in pen…as I do not want to bind myself to something if the Lord leads this ministry in a different direction. Â This is not foreshadowing, it’s just recognition that God is ultimately in control and will guide this ministry to where He wants it.
