1 Kings 19:11-12

11So He said, “Go forth and stand on the mountain before the Lord.” And behold, the Lord was passing by! And a great and strong wind was rending the mountains and breaking in pieces the rocks before the Lord; but the Lord was not in the wind. And after the wind an earthquake, but the Lord was not in the earthquake. 12After the earthquake a fire, but the Lordwas not in the fire; and after the fire a sound of a gentle blowing

This devotion tapped a root for me.  Isn’t the question of what we are suppose to be/do the biggest question of our lives?  The simplicity of this devotion really get us to think.  What would we say if you knew God was speaking to us loud and clear?  Would we be shocked?  Would we acknowledge it?  Would our lives be different if we actually did what God was telling us?  God is providing you and I direction…we just need to shut off the background noise.  In fact we need to flee from the noise and listen for the Lord. He is talking…He is trying to get our attention.

So what does this mean for me?  Personally it means shutting down the phone, logging out of social media, closing the door to my room and having a conversation with God.

What did this devotion say to you?
