Matthew 1:21

21She will bear a Son; and you shall call His name Jesus, for He will save His people from their sins.”

The birth of one child changed everything.  From how we apply dates and how we relate to God.  This one verse to me is the bullet point of Christmas.  Seriously, it is a once sentence explanation of who and what.  I think we can confuse the simplicity of the Gospel for things like:

• God wants me to be happy…
• God wants me to be successful…
• God wants me to ________ (fill in the blank).

All those things are great…but God is simply interested in us following His will for our lives…not our will for our lives.  What if we took those same statements and shortened them up?  They would all read “God Wants Me”.  Now that is awesome!

The baby named Jesus made this possible.  He is the only reason and way we can know God!  Think on that this Christmas season.
