Proverbs 3:5-6

5Trust in the Lord with all your heart And do not lean on your own understanding.6In all your ways acknowledge Him,And He will make your paths straight.

I loved this statement by the author of this devotion…

They devoted everything to seeking Him no matter the cost

God wants us to follow His will for our lives.  I think we get so confused on what this looks like.  We want to think of what His will will result in.  Will it land you in a foreign land, will it cause you lose a few friends.  This verse and devotion talk about the simple beauty of following God.  We are to trust in Him with “ALL” of our heart.  We don’t need to figure things out or have things figured out (do not lean on your own understanding).  In all of our ways (all means all in the Greek), we are to acknowledge Him.  The next part it key, it says “AND”…not maybe…or perhaps…but AND, He will make your paths straight.  So if we trust in the Lord with all of our hearts and do not lean upon our own knowledge…He will guide us.

You see a crazy thing happens when we submit our lives to God.  His desires for our lives become our desires.  It’s a strange concept…and defies logic.  So the question we have is are you following God with all of your heart?  Are you doing what He wants you to do?  Have you dropped the stuff you want to do for the stuff He wants you to do?
