An Evening with my girls and a wayward light

On Tuesday evening we had an opportunity to go to the Kravis Center to watch Celtic Woman.  It was our third time to see them over the years but the first time with our two oldest (both girls).  It was  a great time.  They got to stay out late and we got to do something different.

The lighting and stage design were really great.  I suppose they should be…after all they probably have a large production budget.  From the looks of it they had 12-Coemar Infinity ACL S‘s or equivalent.  They were brilliant…and were powerful.  There was just enough haze to create an environment.

Not that I get joy from other’s misery, but at one point during the show one of the floor mounted intelligent lighting fixtures went off the deep end.   It reminded me of the part in Wall-E where they were in the defective robot containment area.  It started strobing and spinning around like a mechanical bull.  I could only feel the producers pain when this happened.  They got the problem solved pretty quickly though.  Less than a minute after the light started going crazy two stage hands appeared and unplugged the unit.  Ahh…the joy of seeing great team communication.  I doubt my girls were paying attention (as there was a lot more to enjoy than just lights).
