We went to camp with the expectation that our students would get better connected. Â What happened was nothing short of chaotic. Â The Holy Spirit dropped a bomb on our students on the first day and He never let up. Â I have been doing camps for over 7 years and this years camp was something unique and special. Â I have never seen the Holy Spirit move the way He did at this camp. Â We had 2 salvations and 27 baptisms at this camp just within our own student ministry. Â That kind of response is a clear sign that God showed up big in the lives of these students.
I can’t tell you how excited I was to see students who came to know Jesus and crossed from death to everlasting life; that NEVER get’s old! Â Seeing so many students be obedient to God and get baptized touched my heart in an amazing way (a huge thanks to all of the adult leaders for helping out with the baptisms).
Let me tell you about the leaders who went on this trip. Â Our students were blessed in many ways by such a caring group of adult leaders. Â Seriously our adult leaders are absolutely awesome. Â I am blessed and honored to co-minister along these leaders. Â You should consider being one too :).
Last night after the last session, we went to the beach and had communion. Â To see these students remember what Christ did for each and every one of them was amazing. Â Over this past week we sat and talked to students, we cried with them, we prayed over and with them and we laughed a lot. Â I have processing all the things that have happened and find it necessary to have a parent meeting. Â I really want to decompress this camp because it was so unique. Â There are many things I want to encourage each of the parents about so in the coming week, I will communicate a day and a time for us to meet.
Just know that the best thing you can do for these students is to continue to pray for them. Â I got word today that one of our students shared the gospel with a friend when they got home. Â After getting back room a week of camp our students are wasting no time charging the gates of hell. Â I can’t wait for the rest of this summer. Â My prayer is that many students who do not know Jesus will have a life changing encounter with Him in the coming months.
