When I was in middle school I was afforded an opportunity to go to summer camp. That camp (my first and only summer camp experience) changed my life. I experienced outside recreation time, played games at night, had ‘great’ camp food and, more importantly, was told about Jesus. Although I did not come to accept Jesus that summer, a change in my heart had
begun. For the next 12 years, I wrestled with who Jesus was and why a relationship with Him mattered. I finally came to the conclusion that Jesus is who He says He is and I accepted Him as my savior while in graduate school.

The most interesting part of this story to me is how God worked things out. I am not referring to the 12 years it took for me to finally accept Him, I am referring to how I got to camp in the first place. You see, my family was not in a financial position to send me to camp. An individual (who I don’t even know) deserves a huge thanks. My camp experience was sponsored. I don’t know if I would be ministry today if this individual did not sacrifice personally to send me to camp. This goes to show that amazing things can happen when we are obedient to the things God has placed on our hearts.

Last summer we saw 3 students give their lives to Christ and 26 students get baptized. This year we are taking 96 folks to camp. I believe God is going to continue to change our students lives. This summer’s camp has 11 students who need assistance. Like me (when I was their age) they need assistance. The cost to send one student to camp is $365, this equates to $4,015 total for all 11 spots. I don’t know how you are doing financially or if you can even give. I am asking you to consider praying to see if God would have you support one or more of our students. I can’t promise that these students will go into ministry one day or even if God will change their hearts. I do know that this is an incredible opportunity to invest in the next generation. This is an incredible opportunity to change the world by helping a student make it to camp.
