Well, today, we wanted to communicate something that has been on our heart for a few years now.  Since 2012, my wife and I have had this itch to spark a movement of discipleship through church planting.  It took us a while to pray through where God would want us to go.  We finally landed on a location and wanted to share some exciting news with you.

We will be launching Awaken City Church in the St. Augustine area in February 2016.  Our plan is to move there at the end of April and begin to build what God has put on our hearts.  There are a lot of unknowns and I wanted to process a few here on the blog with you all.  With respect to my transition away from being the student pastor at Southbrook Church, I would encourage you to watch this video. With respect to the launch of Awaken City Church, we are excited to be sent out by Southbrook Church.  The leadership has been behind us every step of the way and we are excited to model what has been modeled to us.  For many of you, this is not big news as you know that church planting has been on our heart.  For some of you, timing always seems key.  We fully believe God is in control of the timing here and has orchestrated every step thus far.  With respect to the many steps that need to take place, we simply trust in Him.   We will be announcing some important dates in the coming weeks.  Southbrook Church is hosting our Awaken City Church vision night and reception (both of which will be in April).

So with all of this stated, what can you do?

1. You can certainly pray for us.  Spiritual attacks will no doubt escalate as we continue to move towards God’s calling on our lives.  You can specifically pray for our transition down to St. Augustine and for every step that we take to be in His favor.
2. You can pray for the transition of a new student pastor at Southbrook Church.  The students will be sorely missed (along with their parents of course 🙂 ).  Our prayer is for God’s perfect fit to not only be a great leader, but to take the student ministry to the next level.
3. You can pray for our leaders at Southbrook Church.  They have been so gracious to us. I can’t imagine how awesome the next church plant is going to be.

With that said, we as a family are beyond excited.  We would be honored for you to do the following things:.

2. Like us on Facebook.  We would love to have you follow what God is doing at Awaken City Church and to be honest this is the best way.
3. Follow us on Instagram.  You will not want to miss some of the photos we will be posting.  You may not know this, but St. Augustine is the most photogenic city in America (just saying…).
4. Support us! You can pray, give and even GO! (no pressure…seriously).
