On our trip to south Florida a few weeks back we had the opportunity to meet up with Dave and Bethany and make it to Christ Fellowship.  When I moved to Florida in 1999, the first church I went to was Christ Fellowship (CF).  It was a much smaller church back then but just as impactful.  As an added bonus, during my time there, I ended up meeting Kelli while I was attending the young adults ministry.  Most of you know the story of how she ‘wooed’ me during a mission trip to the Dominican Republic…the rest is history.  We both have a ton of fond memories that we made over the years at CF.  We were blown away at what God is doing there.

As I mentioned, we got to spend time with Dave and Bethany.  Kelli and I have known Dave and Bethany since 2003.  We were invited to their home by Chris from Riverbank Church (Bethany’s brother) for Thanksgiving.  We were immediately considered family and immediately fell in love with this awesome family.  They are such loving and sweet people.  For those of you who know them, you can attest to this…for those of you who don’t…get to know them :).   Our time with them was life giving and much needed.  It was just the type of encouragement we needed as we embark on this new season of church planting.  Dave and Bethany are both on staff at CF.  When they knew we were coming down they invited us to attend a CF staff meeting.  Now I have been to staff meetings before…however a staff meeting with over 250 people is par-tay!

We enjoyed hearing how God is moving at CF.  We got to meet a ton of people who love JESUS!  We were blessed with our time there and more importantly with Dave and Bethany.

As as side note, if you did not know already, Dave is an overseer and trustee for Awaken City Church.  He is a great leader and a good friend.
