Thanksgiving and month in review

Giving Thanks:

This thanksgiving is very special for a number of reasons.  I am thankful for my family, for the provision that the Lord has provided, for the opportunity to do what I do, for new friends, old friends, and life.  Not sure if it’s just the time of season, but as I spend time with my family I wish our time together would slow down.  Seems like things go to fast sometimes.  I force myself to always cherish the moments…as insane as they get.  I have listened to way smarter people and have yielded their advice on this.

Christmas Tree Hunt:

We are looking to add to our holiday tradition this year by seeking out a Christmas Tree Farm.  I’m all for driving hours to get to one in the mountains…my better half…well she’s more pragmatic and wants us to stay a bit closer to home.  Not sure where we will end up, but am definitely looking forward to this little trip.

Southbrook Church:

We have such an amazing staff at Southbrook Church.  Everyone is so enthusiastic about what they do.  I have learned so much in my short time here.  The students are awesome  and I am so looking forward to the things that await us.  I still can’t believe I get to share God’s word.  It’s an honor and it honestly humbles me when I think of it.  I’ve been reading more into the lives of the apostles and how humble they became as they walked more and more with the Lord. I’m reminded about Paul who became the least of everyone…chief of all sinners…yet a man whom God used in a mighty way.  I’m just excited to be here and to serve along side my lovely wife.

Mexican Food:

Had lunch with a new friend in the ministry at a place called La Unica’s….dood the carnitas are like GOLD…seriously…some awesome food up here.  I felt like I was back in Texas for a moment.

Running:

I am sad to say that I will not be able to run the Walt Disney World Marathon in 2011.  Time became an issue and my family won out.  I am still running and can adequately run a half, but the full…well that would be another story.  The mental game would be ok and I am certain I would finish.  I would pay with serious soreness.  With the move and costs associated with it, it just seems to make more sense to take a year off.  Charlotte has a nice marathon in December…so perhaps next year I will hit it up.  I have been doing some trail running…yes…on REAL hills :).

Random Technology:

Sprint coverage is less than adequate in our area…switched to AT&T…got an iPhone (hit me up if you need the digits).

Lusting after the Nikon D7000…why…because it’s awesome…cool…and shoots full HD with autofocus…nuff said.
