It’s a new year and a time to focus on what God has called us to do for 2011. Â I am excited for God has in store for the Southbrook Students. Â We have a lot of our events planned as well as a good direction for what God would have us study over the next few months. Â Tomorrow we are going to jump into a two study aimed at helping our Middle School students discover who they really are. Â Tomorrow will focus on ‘who defines you’. Â As you imagine we live a world where every slick marketers…that work overtime on marketing schemes to help us define who we should be. Â God’s word is clear on where we should get our marching orders. Â This message is essential in building up our middle school students…and I am very excited for small groups tomorrow.
For High School we are going to wrap up 1 John chapter 1. Â John has made a pretty strong case for Christ against the Gnostics and tomorrow we will see how he points them directly to the blood of the cross. Â No matter how involved we may be at church or how much we study God’s word, Â we can’t ever forget about the simplicity of God’s grace and the cross. Â I really want a coffee bar for our High School ministry…the question is do we use Starbucks or Peet’s coffee?
