Because of the weather we had basically two snow days in a row.  In a time when the new year is getting underway, ministries are ramping up for new year activities and most people are swamped God reminded me that He is still in control and in charge.  It’s funny how a little cold weather and rain can change your plans for a few days.  I initially began this week ready to work on several big initiatives for the Student Ministry, prep for two Sunday messages, and do some improvements to our Student Ministry room.  What I found myself doing was explaining to my kids why ice is hard to walk on.  It’s funny, from the perspective of my kids, everyday is a new adventure and yields something new to learn.  We spent lots of time outside playing in our winter wonderland…or as they called it ‘ice skating’.  Even though I did not get to everything on my to do list, God made some time for me to connect with my family in a wonderful unexpected way.
