This weekend was a blur…seriously. Â Saturday night I helped out with production in the main service. Â I am not sure if you know this, but there are some awesome volunteers who serve in the production ministry….I was blessed to be able to hang out with them.
Sunday morning we officially became middle school only. Â Either through a lapse on my part or a direct leading of the spirit I did the wrong lesson with the first service. Â It was one of those moments where I read the lesson (the WRONG lesson) and instantly connected to it…and yes completely forgetting to check to make sure we were on the right lesson. Â Now before I bash myself too much let me add that I was ahead one week…so technically we were on the same series as the second service…just a different focus. Â I will correct it next week. Â Anyway the study that we did was awesome. Â We did a study of Nehemiah chapter 1 and focused on honest communication with our parents. Â It’s amazing to see the draw of the world on our middle schoolers…I had a really great group of young men. Â We wrestled through some pretty big issues. Â I pray that this topic opened the door for them to communicate with their parents in a new, open and honest way.
In our High School ministry, we started 1 John Chapter 2.  As Johns audience we  found ourselves looking right back at the one who was the beginning…it’s amazing how no matter how busy we get or how cluttered our lives get…it truly is simply all about Jesus….grace…unearned love!  It excites me to see students digging into God’s word…that never gets old.
I remember that! I thought it was a great lesson and it really helped me.
