a NEW NORMAL

This past week we took 34 students to a Student Life Camp located at Covenant College (Lookout Mountain, GA).  You never know what to expect at camp.  It is always my prayer to see God work in the lives of the students.  This years theme was DEVOTED.

From day 1 the we looked at the cold hard truth of grace and were reminded of God’s love for us.  Every lesson dealt with grace, repentance, and our personal relationship with God through Jesus Christ.  Make no mistake that lives were changed with an intense focus on our students being DEVOTED in their walk with the Lord.

It was awesome to see our students change…here are a few of their comments:

God doesn’t NEED us, He WANTS us but doesn’t need us … but we definitely need Him to get through life

When you pray for something God will do tremendous things in your life

That there is no need to worry because God has it all worked out for you, and that if you do worry you pretty much are wasting away your life.

Our last night at camp we talked a lot about the work God had done in the lives of our students during the week.  We talked about how when they got home that their NEW NORMAL would begin.  A NORMAL that would build upon the changes God had started in their lives.  I pray that this past week would become a spiritual benchmark in their lives.  A time when they can clearly look back and see a re-direction in their lives at the hands of God.  I along with the other adult leaders who went were truly blessed by this experience.  Looking forward to next summer!
