Charlotte 10 Miler

After a year off, I decided to venture back into road racing.  It’s been hard not participating in any marathons over the past year…but the timing was off.  Now that we have been in NC for over a year, we have found our normal rhythm and I have gotten back into endurance running.  I decided to sign up for the 10 mile race because it was NOT a full marathon ( legs are not there yet) and its a fun distance.  Now it must be understood that I do not have a runners build…I am 6′-1″, flat footed, and weigh 205 lbs…not your average thin clad.  I do have determination so I suppose that counts for something.

The course was very hilly and somewhat cold.  Overall we kept a brisk pace.  My lead favorite part of the course was mile 8…that’s where we ascended up the highest hill…I dubbed it the spiral staircase.  My favorite part of the course was the last mile…all down hill and straight shot.
