There is nothing more confusing than when you go somewhere and the people working there DON’T want to be there.  Could you imagine if when you dumped your life savings to make the pilgrimage to Orlando Florida for your once in a lifetime visit to Walt Disney World (I believe this is required of most people with kids) and when you got there the staff treated you poorly?  This would completely taint your perceptions of Walt Disney World, Orlando and yes, even Florida.
The same thing is true with the student ministry.  Although we are not entertaining students or their families, we are building relationships through experiences.  Our adult leaders are a vital part of what happens in the ministry.  I’ve seen time and time again how our adult leaders make connections with students and ultimately move to a place where they can  share Biblical truths.  So when we interview candidates for small group leaders we look for their heart for students, we look for compassion, we look for someone who is eager to listen and for someone who is patient.  I am so thankful for our adult leaders…they are a huge part of the Southbrook Student ministry.
