3 Things You CAN Expect From The Student Ministry this Summer

Let’s be honest, everyone wants to know what’s going to happen this summer.  We all want to know the bottom line questins like “How long will take us to get there?” and “how much will it cost?” come to mind.  I wanted to provide you with the three things you can expect from the student ministry this summer.

  1. RELATIONSHIPS:  The number one reason why people stay connected at church is because they know someone and are known by others.  We call it relationship building.  We are committed to getting students connected and have a line up of summer activities (outside of our normal Sunday environments) to help the students stay connected.  Staying connected means more than throwing a few knuckle bumps, it means actually TALKING to others.  We like this, in fact we are going to encourage this ALOT this summer.
  2. SPIRITUAL GROWTH: Weeds grow in the summer because they take advantage of their environmental conditions.  This same idea will be true for the students (not that they are weeds,…well if they are, they are the good  ones :).  There has been some serious planning leading into this summer and you can expect some really great things in the area of spiritual leadership.  Our sunday morning topics, camp, missions trips and mid week study will provide great opportunities for growth.  As a side note, we have several student interns lined up this summer for both the student and children ministry’s.  Areas such as production, facilities, and worship…there are great opportunities for students to learn some incredibile things and to grow in unbelievable ways.
  3. FUN: Seriously, there are so many awesome things planned for the summer.  We have mission trips, a summer camp, a  mid week Bible study (Ephesians), and an awesome summer tour full of fun events.  Who says church can’t be fun?…We make it a requirement for student ministry.  Me and the rest of the student ministry team can’t wait!
