Haiti Trip Day #2

Day two started with a 5:15 am wake up call. You see when the electricity goes out the non-movement I air will wake me up. Good news is that the generator kicked on shortly after the batteries expired.

Today we headed to Delmas 31 Church and to the beach. On the way to church (and in somewhat typical island fashion) we got stopped for an hour by some sort of athletic ever. We saw a few Haitian road bikers and lots of runners. Come to fun out there was a race that the police department put on. Needless to say we missed worship…we did however catch the rest of the service. It is worth noting that several noticeable improvements have been made to the church. After church we headed to the beach for some swimming and for our dinner. Yeah I know what you are thinking…you have been there one day…are you only there for fun? Well to answer the question, we pre loaded our trip with fun 🙂 . The rear of our week will include some hard, spiritual work. Prayers are welcomed and appreciated. Tomorrow we begin our VBS program. We are praying for life change for the kids we will come in contact with over the next few day ls. The students and adult leaders are donning awesome. Tomorrow la post will cover the VBS program.

  • Fantastic! It’s great to get the story from you since the conversation on the phone with Joe was difficult to follow— I think he and I were talking simultaneously through nearly the entire call!!!

  • Hi everyone….do not be discouraged…our God has already planned the rest of the day and week…all you have to do is be obedient, and be happy…you may be tired, sweaty, (maybe stinky) but you have a joyous opportunity to present the good news, so do it with a radiant and happy heart. So many people are praying for you and your families, so jump into the work that has been assigned for each of you…love, Sandy & mom
