Haiti Trip Day #3

Today we started out marathon of VBS programs. We headed out around 8 am to go to Delmas 31 church. They had school going on but were eager to let us take over for a day.

We kicked everything off with some worship (with hand gestures). Our students then performed a wonderful version of the story of Joseph and his coat of many colors. The Haitian kids seemed to identify well. After the performance two of our students gave their testimonies. It was awesome to see them all in action. After that it was on to face painting and bracelet making. Our team worked tirelessly painting and making bracelets. Just when we thought it was all over we discovered that the school kids challenge our team to a game of soccer. Please know I saw where this was going …we only had three people on the trip who have ever played soccer before. It was brutal….we lost 10 to zero……as I close out the report for day 3 I wanted to share that I think they just scored again! :). Please keep praying for our team the next two days will include significant outdoor time….which means a greater potential for dehydration.

  • I knew I should have kept Joe in soccer instead of switching over to tennis years ago! How about challenging them in a tennis match next time!
